Elsa continues to hold onto tropical storm strength as it heads toward Cuba, but its expected approach to Florida tomorrow has prompted a warning for the Keys.
As of 11 p.m. Sunday, Elsa has strengthened to 65-mph sustained winds and is moving northwest at 15 mph. The National Hurricane Center says the storm is making its way toward Cuba.
Beyond that, impacts to Florida are looking increasingly likely: a tropical storm warning has been issued for parts of the Florida Keys. A tropical storm watch now is in effect for parts of the west coast of Florida, including Tampa Bay.
Elsa is currently about 165 miles east-southeast of Cayo Largo, Cuba. Some strengthening is possible Sunday afternoon and evening as Elsa approaches that country's southern coastline.
Weakening is anticipated Monday when Elsa is expected to interact with Cuba.
